Carlos Brito is an academic, manager and opinion maker. He is an associate professor with tenure at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto, as well as at Porto Business School. Still, as a scholar, Carlos has assumed a number of relevant management roles. From 2011 to 2018, he was Pro-Rector of the University of Porto in the field of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and from 2019 to 2021, he was Vice-Rector of Portucalense University in the field of Research and Internationalization. He was also director of UPTEC - Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto (2011-2018), vice-president (2013-2016) and CEO (2017-2018) of NET - Business Innovation Centre, and vice-president of ADDICT - Creative Industries Portugal (2015-2017).
As a manager, Carlos is president of the Portuguese Management Association, president of the Observatory of Port Wine, and board member of APCER Brazil. He is also a member of the general council of Ordem dos Economistas, a member of the strategic council of Tourism of Porto and Northern Portugal, and ambassador of the ONG U.DREAM.
As an opinion maker, Carlos has regular participation in media (TV, radio, and newspapers), with a significant number of followers in social media. He is frequently invited as a speaker to address topics of marketing, strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship. He is the author and co-author of eight management books.
